A stray dog ran out in front of my car causing me some damage. My insurance adjuster writes his own estimate so he told me what the insurance would pay minus my deductible. He said the check would be sent to me, that I can have anyone I want to fix it and to shop around. Very icy weather, I was going 20 km/hr (honestly) and when I made a right turn the ice dragged me out into the opposite lane. So here's the question in case you don't want to read my wall of text below (but it would be appreciated if you did to further understand my question). I was covered under my moms health insurance while in college and I was told I needed to be enrolled in school to stay covered, I dropped out a while ago and was wondering if I am still covered by law under the Affordable Care Act since I am only 19. I was covered under my mothers health insurance, she works for a private company and she said that I needed to be enrolled in school in order to stay covered by the insurance. But this was close to a year ago if I'm remembering correctly. The reason I'm worried is because I'm taking a break from college, and have had multiple doctor appointments/tests done after I left, but I never had a problem with the insurance going through. I've made myself paranoid into thinking that the company may just not know, and is assuming I'm still in school and will randomly hit me with the costs of the testings and doctor visits if they saw I was not in school, or god forbid somewhere down the road my mother or I are in a serious accident and are dropped because of this. I know this happens all the time, the insurance agencies have people hired to find abnormalities in your history in an attempt to drop you and not have to pay the bills. I am a 20 year old college student that is looking to buy his first car. I am currently ON MY PARENTS INSURANCE and i am thinking of buying a bmw 318i 1995 automatic trans with around 140,000 miles on it. Around how much would the insurance for this car be? I just need a rough estimate just to see what i'm working with. Thanks

So my dad has found a really good deal on a potential car for me in really good condition. It's a 1989 Mercedes Benz 300e. Do you think that since this is a 22 year old car that it'd be a ridiculous amount to insure because of the Mercedes badge? Or do you think I could afford it with a job? If I have an insurance plan that costs $900 a month, with a $50 co-pay, and $10000 deductable?

how does that work when I go to the doctor? I just asked the same question, but I worded it all wrong, I think. So, I go to the doctor with strep throat and my co-pay is $50 and I have a $10000 deductable. How much will I actually pay? Logic tells me that with a deductable, like car insurance, I would pay for the entire office visit cost, since it would obviously be less than $10000. And a $25 co-pay for prescriptions! So, with that said, I would be paying a monthly payment of $900, the $50 co-pay, and the visit bill. I understand that insurance is for when really bad things happen, but geez. Is this really what people pay? We've been without insurance for 4 years and pay about $30 and office visit (by paying cash) and go to Publix and get $4 prescriptions. Please, someone expain this to me. Do you pay this expense simply because of the possibility of something bad happening?

Astra van Mk4 Insurance for 17 year old...?

Hey, I know its probably thought as weird but for my first car/van I want a Vauxhall Astravan as I love the shape and the car/van itself. The thing is the New model (06-TO current) have the 1.3 CDTI engine which is good but if you want a decent one there all 3000+... The Mk4 astravan (98-06) only go as low as a 1.6 Deisel. Could I be insured on this or would it be a big bill, or is it just worth getting a normal car? Chris

My daughter broke her arm. She is insured with my husband's insurance. The insurance company agreed to pay for the hospital and doctor bills but the doctor's office never submitted the bill to our insurance company. There is evidence that they submitted it to the wrong insurance company and are trying to blame us for it saying we gave them the wrong information. I have no idea where they think we came up with information on an insurance company we never had. Moreover they had the right information when they billed our insurance for a previous case. Now 2 years later the doctor's office is trying to collect the money from us saying it is too late to collect on our insurance. Can they do that? We pay a lot for health insurance every month and now we have a huge medical bill too.

Why do I have to pay extra for changing address with my insurance company?

I recently moved and changed the details on my drivers licence and log book. When I called the insurance company to do the same they said i would need to pay 60 to cover the cost of the change between now and the renewal period (which at the time was approx 6 weeks away). All of this was AFTER they took my previous and new address to confirm my ID. When I asked them why this was as I had paid my entire premium in full last year (so as not to incur direct debit charges) they just repeated themselves. I did not have the 60 and said well I will just stay at the previous address (my ex-boyfriends) until my renewal comes through and I will change address then. However...my renewal has just come through in my NEW address but with postcode where vehicle kept overnight as my OLD address!! What does this actually mean?? surely if I have to make a claim it doesn't matter where the vehicle is kept esp as they have my address and the majority of claims do not happen at your residence!!! I have read the policy back to front and they even added amendments this year to include admin charges and NOWHERE does it mention being charged for change of address. I have literally moved around the corner surely its not just about postcodes or am I being naive??
